In Sorrento, a wine bar and restaurant, the first Jazz Kissa in southern Italy, combining a quest for excellence with the concept of international Hi-Fi listening bars.
“Vini, Vinili e Vivande”(Wines, Vinyls, and Food) is the motto of Zazà, a restaurant opened in the summer of 2025 in the center of Sorrento, near Piazza Tasso, by Dario Cilento, who has combined his lifelong passions and professional skills here in his hometown.
A native of nearby Sant’Agata sui Due Golfi, Dario has held management positions at major international establishments such as Villa Treville in Positano and Pavillon Ledoyen in Paris, as well as other prestigious experiences such as Quattro Passi in Nerano and Enoteca Pinchiorri in Florence, where he honed his love for hospitality, food, and wine.
Zazà is my dream, to open an authentic place based on the search for excellent products.
(Dario Cilento)
Three worlds that he combined with another passion of his, music, to create a wine bar and restaurant that accompanies guests from lunch, to dinner, and after-dinner drinks. It boasts the added bonus of meticulous product research, the art of meeting people and the smiles typical of the Sorrento Coast, and the sophistication of international listening bars.
For Dario, it’s a return to his roots and his hometown, as reflected in his chosen name, Zazà, the nickname of his beloved grandfather, who, in addition to selling cheese, was passionate about theater and conviviality.
Zazà is a place that welcomes guests at any time of day: from a light lunch to early afternoon, with a selection of premium teas from Le Vie del Tè and a selection of single-origin coffees from Sansone micro-roaster in Naples, served in moka pots or specialty coffees.
As evening approaches, the place transforms into the ideal spot for an aperitif and, above all, dinner, with a culinary offering born from careful and passionate research among small, high-quality producers: from Gioi cured meats to Menaica anchovies, to exclusive cheeses from Northern Italy, France, and Switzerland.
And for after-dinner drinks, a refined selection of fine spirits awaits you, dedicated to connoisseurs: Whiskey, Bas Armagnac, and niche Cognac.
Dario, besides being a great lover of gastronomy, hospitality, and wine, also has a deep passion for sourcing excellent products, which he discovers while traveling to meet producers, often friends, who preview new vintages or specialties. All this, always accompanied by excellent music, strictly on vinyl.
Zazà is also the first restaurant to have a vinyl list—vinyls that are also available for purchase—so you can choose the music to accompany your tasting, thanks to a high-fidelity Revival hi-fi system.
The interior decor is very welcoming, with original plates on the walls decorated with the faces of Dario’s suppliers, reminiscent of the Italian traditional Buon Ricordo plates, maps of the main international wine regions, and a wealth of deli products on the shelves.
Zazà is one of those rare places that values good things, those who produce them with love, and those who understand them. Let Dario guide you through unique stories and excellent traditional flavors. Follow Zazà’s social media to stay updated on events designed to showcase the many excellences, including cultural ones, with which Dario collaborates, from wine to music.
Definitely a place you’ll want to return to and bring your loved ones.
The Secret
Listening bars emerged in Japan in the 1950s as an evolution of Jazz Kissa (or jazu kissa), bars dedicated to jazz music enthusiasts.
