Domus Florum Sorrento
Romantic botanical suites inspired by the historic gardens of Villa Zagara in which they are immersed
In the heart of Sorrento, the romantic botanical suites of Domus Florum are located within the park of Villa Zagara, the largest garden in the city center, which also inspired the decor of the beautiful rooms.
Domus Florum Sorrento, opening in the summer of 2025, is located within Villa Zagara, a historic residence immersed in the vibrant soul of its botanical gardens, where nature is the true protagonist and celebrated in every detail.
Owned by the Acampora-Apreda family since 1978, Villa Zagara Sorrento owes its name to the citrus flowers of the same name, which, according to classical mythology, were given as gifts to the goddesses for their wedding rites.
Here the house becomes a garden and the garden becomes a home, a place that smells of nature, where greenery is a vibrant part of the experience.

And it is precisely to classical myths that the marvelous villa overlooking the seaside village of Marina Grande owes its origins. Agrippa, the famous Roman general who defeated Cleopatra and Antony, lived there in the summer of the 1st century BC with his second wife Julia, daughter of Caesar Octavian. He, in fact, built the outdoor nympheum that currently serves as the romantic swimming pool at Villa Zagara Sorrento, also accessible to guests of the Domus.
True to this philosophy, Domus Florum is a botanical retreat in the heart of Sorrento, located in a small, recently renovated building at the entrance to the Villa Zagara park. Each of the six suites, with garden-view terraces, and the sea-view penthouse, is dedicated to a flower.
The spaces are refined and bright, bathed in a pastel palette with furnishings inspired by noble country homes from the turn of the century, evoking a sense of peace and harmony.
Breakfast, a true ritual, is served in the marvelous spaces of Hortus Sorrento, Villa Zagara’s botanical restaurant (also bookable for dreamy dinners), under a romantic pergola nestled in the park. Prepared by Chef Domenico Tulliano‘s team, it offers the best of the Sorrento Peninsula’s cuisine, from Neapolitan pastiera to freshly baked sfogliatelle, and artisanal cured meats and cheeses.
Every detail is designed to offer tailor-made hospitality, in a timeless atmosphere where elegance and culture intertwine. Picnics, cooking classes, garden tours, and all types of events can also be organized in the botanical gardens.
Guests, upon reservation, can take advantage of the golf cart service, which can be taken to Domus Florum upon arrival or to the port/station upon departure.
The Secret
Not far from Domus Florum is the Villa Zagara balsamic vinegar factory (visits by appointment), the only one in Southern Italy, reminiscent of a period salon, where Nino Apreda refines his extraordinary balsamic vinegars. Guests of Domus Florum can book tastings of both the balsamic vinegar and the award-winning olive oil produced by the family from their olive groves.
