In the heart of Pompeii, HABITA79 is the new design hotel of the MGallery Collection, among works of art dedicated to the most beautiful archaeological site in the world and a panoramic rooftop theater of aperitifs and charming dinners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

HABITA79 MGallery Pompeii <\/strong>is located a few steps from the entrance to the wonderful excavations of the Archaeological Park, a UNESCO heritage site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ancient Pompeii, a Roman city submerged by the eruption of Vesuvius<\/strong>, was rediscovered in 1748<\/strong> with the excavations commissioned by Charles III of Bourbon<\/strong>, King of the Two Sicilies, which became an essential stop on the Grand Tour that European intellectuals made in Italy.<\/p>\n\n\n

With its small size and narrowness of space, Pompeii is a surprise for any visitor: (\u2026) everything, rooms, corridors, loggias, is painted in the most vivid colours.<\/p>\n(Goethe, 1787)<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The name of the hotel pays homage to Pompeii: 79<\/strong> is, in fact, the number of rooms<\/strong> but also the year of the eruption <\/strong>of Vesuvius, which took place on October 24, 79 AD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The structure is housed inside a majestic building from the early 1900s<\/strong>, historically owned by the Curia, built in the 1940s to accommodate the faithful on pilgrimage to the famous Sanctuary of Pompeii<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n

Opened in 2021<\/strong>, the renovation project of HABITA79 involved a team of architects, including Giuliano dell\u2019Uva and Gianluca Marangi, and was inspired by the idea of \u200b\u200bbuilding \u201cthe home of a contemporary Grand Tour traveler\u201d. The interiors evoke stylistic and architectural suggestions of an ancient history<\/strong>, reinterpreted in a modern key<\/strong> with contemporary design pieces<\/strong>, such as the armchairs designed by Gio Ponti and Tom Dixon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The walls are decorated with photographic works<\/strong> by the artist Luciano Romano dedicated to archaeology. The interior spaces were designed as a small domestic museum<\/strong>: the vases of Giustiniani from the late 18th century, faithful copies of those found in the excavations, are displayed on dedicated shelves, while tall white bases enhance a collection of blue glazed terracotta ceramics, designed specifically for the hotel. In the corridors and rooms an exhibition<\/strong> tells the story of the archaeological sites curated by photographers Luciano Bobba and Vittorio Guida.<\/p>\n\n\n

HABITA79 offers 2 different restaurants <\/strong>led by chef Roberto Lepre<\/strong> who follow the seasonality of raw materials and respect for high quality and sustainability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the ground floor there is Il Circolo Osteria<\/strong>, characterized by 50s atmospheres and dishes of the Campania food and wine tradition with the inevitable presence of pizza<\/strong>, whilst the 1000 m2 panoramic rooftop<\/strong> with a view of Vesuvius hosts the Cocktail Bar The Roof<\/strong> where you can order drinks and cocktails accompanied by informal dishes and bites.<\/p>\n\n\n

HABITA79 also offers the NUXE SPA Wellness Center <\/strong>with an indoor whirlpool tub, sauna, Turkish bath, emotional shower, relaxation area and a wide range of massages and beauty treatments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Secret<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The history of the famous Sanctuary of Pompeii merges with that of the Blessed Bartolo Longo and the Countess Mariana de Fusco who commissioned the construction of the Sanctuary which began on May 8, 1876 thanks to the numerous offerings received from many faithful throughout the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\r\n
